Dalam upaya meningkatkan kualitas SDM di Indonesia, maka pemerintah Indonesia menjalin kerjasama dengan pemerintah Jerman dalam bentuk Program Indonesian German Institute (IGI). Terkait dengan program tersebut, pemerintah menunjuk 5 institusi sebagai IGI Center dan masing-masing Center mempunyai Sister-sister. Salah satu Center yang ditunjuk oleh pemerintah adalah SMK Negeri 1 Cibadak.
Program IGI Sister untuk meningkatkan kualitas SDM yang diselenggarakan di SMK Negeri 1 Cibadak adalah melalui :
1. Program Pendidikan SMK
Program ini merupakan program peningkatan kualitas pendidikan dan pelatihan SMK Negeri 1 Cibadak SMK Negeri 1 Cibadak sehingga diharapkan terjadi peningkatan kualitas tamatan SMK Negeri 1 Cibadak
2. Program Training Sosial Grassroot Training Center (GTC)
Program ini ditujukan pada para tamatan SLTA yang tidak melanjutkan ke perguruan tinggi dan belum mendapat pekerjaan. Pelatihan ini lebih ditekankan pada pemberian Life Skill kepada para peserta dibidang Agribisnis dan Agroindustri sehingga setelah selesai mengikuti pelatihan, mereka memiliki bekal keterampilan yang cukup memadai. Setiap angkatan, pelatihan ini berlangsung selama 6 bulan.
